What is Profile Extrusion?

Harkness Industries produces several resins suitable for profile extrusion. The extrusion process for profiles is similar to sheet extrusion. The resin is fed into an extruder which melts the material and forces it through a die that gives it the desired shape. Additional processing is necessary to give the extruded profile its final contours.

Profiles may be punched of have the printing applied depending on the application. The applications for extruded profiles include exterior and interior products, such as:

  • Housing
  • Electrical components
  • Frames
  • Cable raceways
  • Corner guards
  • Automotive parts
  • Trim parts
  • Fairings

Harkness Industries specializes in short runs of custom pipe and profile plastic extrusions, utilizing a variety of engineering grade resins. Our profile extrusion unit tailors its operation to meet your requirements, first time – every time.
