“Customer service is the frontend of any good company. Without customer service you’re just another supplier in a sea of many.”
“Professionally, I want to make sure we meet the customers expectations. It’s not really a fear, but it’s something I think about every day.”
Where are you from originally?
Childhood dream job?
“I really don’t know. What I can tell you is I’m a mechanical engineer and I always liked taking things apart and then building things. I was a gearhead in high school and I’m still a gear head. I have a fascination with understanding how things work.”
Give us a notable achievement.
“We had a large tooling project at Harkness for a new customer. We probably developed about 32 new parts and we forged a relationship with their engineering group. We made changes on the fly throughout the project and still came in on target and price. That was the first year Bob and Nancy (Williams) owned the company.”
What do you do when you’re not working at Harkness?
“I have a family, a son who I love to be with. I like to go to downtown New Haven and Manhattan to see the theater and arts. I love to eat out. I’m still a gearhead and I have a muscle car. I also enjoy fishing whenever I get the chance.”
