Harkness Industries celebrated 50 years of production as a plastics manufacturer in 2012. Starting as a plastics injection molding company in 1962, Harkness has enjoyed its share of success and innovations.
Privately held since 1962, the company has seen three different owners. The current owners, Bob and Nancy Williams purchased the company in 2001.
Harkness continues to injection mold plastics today, but added polyurethane processing in 1983 and started a line of thermoplastic profile extrusion products in 1995.
The Williams continually expanded the custom urethane molding product line through the years and watched revenues grow with it. In fact, revenues have increased more than five fold through the last decade.
Expertise and Growth
This expertise comes from Bob Williams’ 20-year career with polyurethane products at Chemtura Corporation, formerly known as Uniroyal and Uniroyal Chemical. Bob has also assembled a team with vast experience and knowledge of urethane products.
Today, Harkness is showing no signs of slowing down as they recently added significant versatility to their production with a state-of-the-art mixing machine capable of producing six different components simultaneously.
It’s this type of forward thinking and innovation that will propel Harkness Industries through the next 50 years. We want you there with us.
